Because Honda chose to use soy-based wires for the wires leading to the transmission, they are very, very tempting to rodents. In fact, ina rodent of some sort crawled into my engine and chewed through the wiring that controls my transmission. Part of the repair was that they wrapped the replacement wires in "special tape" Honda makes to deter rodents it's spicy.

When I started the car, the "check engine" light lit up and the D drive icon was flashing. When I shifted from park to reverse, the car shook really hard.

Every time the transmission tried to automatically shift while driving to the dealership down the street, the car would clunk and shake. The dealership informed me that a rodent had chewed through the wires that help control the transmission again and that it was a "common problem. They said it was just a fact of owning a vehicle.

They suggested I "opt for the spicy tape, " which they charge more for. I explained that if they'd looked at my engine, they'd know I already had that tape on there!

That it could happen over and over again and there was "nothing" I could do. That sounds like a recall issue to me and a manufacturer refusing to cover this under warranty. Does anyone know if I don't pull that fuse and turn off the radio and run a hot wire from the 7 way connector to the Honda battery if it is still necessary to pull the fuse. Also, has anyone ever had any wheel problems with the CRV as do some Saturns. So far I haven't had a problem with miles on it. We have the Saturn Vue and, as you probably know, an ignition fuse is required to be pulled prior to towing to avoid having the battery go dead.

As I didn't want to pull the fuse each time, I addressed that problem by mounting a rocker type switch which held the fuse in question on the center console side panel that contains the other fuses. BTW, what wheel problems were you referring to for the Saturn Vue?

Have never heard of that. Here is a link to the fues setup we used. A little pricey but one could probably configure their own. I have never pulled a fuse. I always make sure everything inside the car is turned off. I have never had a dead or weak battery. We never travel over miles a day. The problems with the wheels were the bearings. Earlier Saturn Vues had a problem with the wheel bearings going bad.

I know a friend of mine who has had his replaced at least 2 times, and he doesn't tow his. I understand it is an on going problem if you tow. In reference to the switch, I did that to my Saturn after the first time I towed it. Much easier flipping a switch than pulling a fuse. I tow a CR-V and I installed a fuse switch, but it probably wasn't necessary.

Unity perlin noise

I towed the car a few times without pulling the radio fuse, and all was well. Then after a two day trip, I tried to crank the CR-V and found the battery was too weak to do so. When I returned home I ordered the fuse switch and installed it. After giving the situation some more thought I'm convinced that I must have inadvertently left the climate control on, and possible the fan running on that trip where the battery was drained. My battery died once it got recharged now neither the radio nor the rear view camera powers on.

If it does come on the information on the screen is so scrambled and then the screen goes blank again.

It doesn't make a difference if the car in motion or stopped. I feel very insecure not knowing how much fuel I have in the car or my mileage that I depend on for maintenance purposes. I have did some research on my issue and have found many owners with the same problem.

This prevents me from knowing how much fuel is left in the car, sometimes for days. The instrument cluster is also the only place to see the odometer and keep track of mileage for service intervals. This lack of information affects my safety.

Radio does not power on

This occurs when starting the car, other times in the middle of driving, on city and highway. It stays off or unreadable for hours to days. The gauge cluster that includes the odometer and fuel gauge intermittently go blank or glitch when the weather starts to get colder. It happens every time you turn on the car lately, however. This leads me to believe that the gauge cluster is degrading faster now. Digital gas gauge includes odometer. Last winter, at about 32 degrees or colder, gauge often either did not work went blank or scrambled its info, which was then unreadable.

Now, the gauge has begun malfunctioning in July. I fear running out of gas or missing maintenance due to unreliable odometer reading. Both situations could leave me stranded at the side of the road.
